SPASA has made a submission which addresses key areas for the swimming pool and spa industry, which include:
A focus on Practice Direction 8, as it relates entirely to pool inspections.
Reiterating the distinction between a temporary pool fence, and a permanent safety barrier.
Clarifying council’s mandatory inspection requirements.
Maintaining the inspection triggers at the point when the pool is ‘filled with water’ and when the permanent barrier is completed.
Broadening the pool of pool inspectors.

SPASA will keep members informed as we become aware of the outcomes and impacts of this latest round of consultation.
