Women Advocating for Vision Empowerment & Strength

The mission and purpose of the WAVES Committee is to:

Provide networking, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for women within SPASA membership.
Create a platform for members to discuss industry trends, challenges, and opportunities relevant to women in the industry.
Support members in leadership and career progression within and the broader industry.
Facilitate events, discussions, and initiatives that align with the interests of SIG members.
Engage with industry experts and organisations to enhance knowledge-sharing and visibility of women in the industry.
Influence best practices and policies that support gender diversity within the swimming pool and spa industry.

The WAVES Committee will undertake the following primary activities:

Develop and implement an annual calendar of events and initiatives.
Organise networking events, provide options for guest speaker sessions, and professional development workshops, ensuring events and initiatives are cost neutral
Establish mentorship programs connecting experienced members with those seeking guidance.
Create and share resources specific to women's advancement in the industry.
Collaborate with other industry bodies and professional networks to expand opportunities.
Conduct informal research on industry trends and barriers to women's advancement.
