The State Planning Commission (SPC) has prepared a discussion paper on inspection policies for the purpose of gathering feedback from key stakeholders, which will be used to inform updates to Practice Directions, and in particular Practice Direction 8 which relates to Inspection Policy for Swimming Pools.
SPASA’s key focus on PD8 is to update the wording and language to be clearer on the mandatory inspection requirements, and to reflect the industry standards and definitions for temporary fences and permanent barriers.
The discussion paper highlights key topics which include:
Topic 1 – CBS Building and Construction Industry Review
Topic 2 – Jurisdictional comparison
Topic 3 – Resourcing
Topic 4 – Mandatory notifications
Topic 5 - Reliance on other mechanisms to inspect
Topic 6 – Fees
