Following on from last Friday’s communication regarding the Queensland Contract, in which SPASA outlined changes required to the Queensland Contract, SPASA is now able to advise members that an insert has been developed which addresses the issue, improves compliance with the regulations, and enhances enforceability.
This insert is for use by members who have unused / unsigned hard copy contracts, and is available to download in PDF format here: Queensland Contract 2026 Insert
The insert will need to be printed out and included in the contract after the contents page, but before the Information Table. This placement is crucial in order to satisfy S14(6) of Schedule 1B, Part 2, Division 1, of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act.
It is also important that the Contract Price information should be accurately duplicated throughout the contract’s Information Table where those Contract Price fields still remain.
For assistance in using the insert, please contact Ben Makepeace via [email protected] to make a time to go through the process.
The Queensland Standard Contract that members access online via Jotform and DocuSign has now been updated to include the new insert page. To allow this update to be made available to members as quickly as possible, we have updated the standard generic version of the contract in each format. The pre-populated versions of the contract will not be updated, but this option will be available to members seeking this option once the new contract is released in the coming days.
The Queensland Master Pool Builder contract will also remain unavailable at this time, but will also be one of the new contracts made available in the future. We recommend that Master Pool Builder members utilise the new Queensland Standard Contract via the Member Portal once it is available.
The release of a new Queensland Standard Contract is well progressed and we are working to make this available to members as quickly as possible.
A new digital contract to replace the Jotform and DocuSign contracts will include the relevant changes and refinements providing members with a more streamlined way to generate contracts. Members will be advised when this is available in the Member Portal.
New printed contracts will also be available soon and members with unsigned hard copy contracts will be able to obtain copies of these once available. SPASA will provide further advice when the hard copy contracts are available.
For questions relating to accessing the contract via the member portal, please email [email protected].
Members with questions about these contract changes, or other contract-related matters, can contact Ben Makepeace via [email protected].
