SPASA Consumer Guide – Managing supply chain pressures

April 2nd, 2026

SPASA is continuing to monitor the ongoing global conflict that is having a direct impact on the supply chains for swimming pool and spa builders, manufacturers and pool retailers and technicians. The impacts are causing supply disruption, shortages in some materials, price rises due to fuel pricing and labour issues. Each of these is impacting the cost of doing business.

Consumer Guide

SPASA has now put together a short consumer guide that supports our SPASA Contracts: Guidance Note #1.  The consumer guide is intended to provide a resource for members to share with your clients as part of any discussions you need to have about the disruptions, shortages, time increases and cost increases that may be impacting your projects.

This guide provides an overview and broader context of the situation under SPASA’s brand and can be shared with clients as you sit down to discuss the specifics of their individual pool building project.

Fuel Excise Development

This week the Australian Government announced a temporary halving of the fuel excise on petrol and diesel to help ease the impact of rising fuel costs.

This initiative is in place for 3 months, from 1 April to 30 June, and is intended to provide direct reductions in fuel prices by up to 26.3 cents per litre.

Is your contract up to date?

Only SPASA members can access SPASA contracts. If you are not using the current version of the SPASA contract in your business, members can log into the Member Portal on our website – www.spasa.com.au. For assistance with logging into the Member Portal please contact [email protected].

Stay up to date

Changes are happening extremely quickly making it difficult to predict exactly when price rises may peak and hopefully revert to more normal levels. While SPASA will continue to keep up to date with decisions by the Australian, state or territory governments that may impact businesses, in particular construction businesses, members should also remain vigilant.
