Draft AS 3633:2026, Residential and public pools - Water quality, is now open for public comment.
For the first time, the draft brings residential and public swimming pools together within one Australian Standard. It also introduces a more contemporary approach to water quality, public health, safety, performance and emerging industry practices.
If you believe a requirement is unclear, impractical, technically incorrect, missing important guidance or could create an unintended consequence, have your say.

“The proposed requirement does not sufficiently distinguish between residential and public pool operating environments. These environments can differ significantly in usage, supervision, treatment systems and operational risk.”
Explain what you believe should be changed.
Example - Proposed Change
“Amend the clause to separately identify requirements for residential and public pools, or allow the requirement to vary according to pool classification, usage and operating conditions.”
You do not need to draft perfect Standards language, simply make it clear what the issue is, and what you want changed.
Public comments are reviewed by the relevant Standards Australia technical committee before the Standard is finalised.
