Do you build pools or spas in Victoria? We need to hear your ideas to cut red tape in 2027.

October 22nd, 2026

The Victorian Building and Plumbing Commission is seeking SPASA’s help to identify improvements that can be made to the building approval and compliance system in Victoria when it comes to building approvals, inspections, insurance and contracts for pool or spa projects.

What does SPASA need here?

Help us help you, by sending your pet peeves on red tape, excess costs and time wasters that keep you from doing what you do well – build and install great pools.

We know the industry in Victoria is tired from all the reforms this year, but this is a special opportunity to make your case for how things can be better, not harder.

We need real solutions, not just the problems, if we want to be taken seriously and get our ideas included in the Commission’s plans for 2027 and beyond.

What do I need to do?

Send us an email and provide us with as much detail as you can about the problem and how to solve it.

Time is tight on this consultation; we need comments by 2 November so we can include these in our written submission. Please email your examples to Ben Makepeace at [email protected].
